BRAVEHEART

Braveheart talks about William Wallace, interpreted by Mel Gibson, and the first war of Scottish independence (In the 13th Century). Wallace was a Scottish rebellious, who heads the popular rebellion against the king of England, Edward I called “Longshanks”.
The film started when he was a child, and he lost his father and his brother, killed by Englishmen. Then, he goes with his uncle and he goes to abroad to have a good education. When he is an adult, he returns to Scotland to live in peace. But he can’t because Longshanks restore the “primae noctis”.
He fell in love with Murron, who get married in secret, because they don’t want to observe the law. Then, the Englishmen killed Murron, and then start the rebellion. He wants to liberate Scotland from England. They fight with intelligence and with his friends, Hamish and Stephen (the Irish), and other people. Then the Scottish nobles declare him “Scottish guard”. With the nobles’ help, they conquered York and then he fall in love with Elisabeth of France. She notifies William Wallace to the English attacks.
In a war, the Scottish nobles betray William Wallace and they lost the war. After, William Wallace kills all the nobles that betray him, except Robert the Bruce. Then William is betrayed another time and he is captured. Then the English torture William Wallace, and when he is going to die, he shouts very loud “freedom”, and then they cut his neck.
